Before you start
What to verify before you start an outbound service
An outbound service should be clear about who it will contact, what work it will perform and what your team still needs to do. Before you start, agree on the audience, the handoff and how you will judge the work.
Define the businesses you can serve
Start with the customers your team is equipped to help. Write down the company types, geography, decision-makers and exclusions. A commercial cleaning firm might need facilities within its crew's service area; a managed IT provider might need businesses that fit its support model. These are examples, not recommendations for expanding your market. Confirm the actual targeting criteria before research or outreach begins.
Separate the work from the outcome
Researching a business, finding a contact, sending a message, receiving a reply and booking a meeting are different steps. Ask which steps are included in the service and how each will be reported. A contact record is not a booked meeting. A reply is not a signed client. Read the agreed scope and pricing together so a number in a report cannot be mistaken for a promise of sales.
Agree on the review and handoff
Decide who approves the audience and message, who reviews replies and who follows up. Your team needs a clear next action when someone shows interest. Confirm where records and conversation history will live, how you can review them and what happens when a contact should be excluded. Do not start from an assumption that every name found is ready to contact.
Make the first review practical
Review examples against the agreed criteria. Check whether the businesses fit, whether the contact roles make sense and whether the message accurately describes your offer. Then assess the actual work recorded in the CRM against the scope. Keep research, outreach activity, replies, appointments and customer decisions separate so you can see where improvement is needed.
Bring these questions to a walkthrough
Which businesses will be included and excluded? What exactly is delivered? What needs our approval? Who handles replies and sales conversations? Where can we inspect the work? The current service pages and CRM walkthrough can help you evaluate fit. Use the existing homepage navigation to explore the offer; the agreed service scope remains the authority.
